The Leitchfield City Council on Monday discussed possibly offering a property tax abatement for individuals who buy and refurbish blighted structures in the city.

During Monday’s regular city council meeting, City Councilman Dennie Fentress said that, per Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS), the city may provide such an abatement for structures that are at least 25 years old and are rehabilitated for either commercial or residential purposes.
