The Grayson County High School Boys team placed 2nd out of 12 teams and earned two medals in their 5K race Saturday.

The Grayson County Cross country teams brought home more trophies and medals Saturday from the Central Hardin High School Fairgrounds Frenzy.

The high school boys team placed 2nd out of 12 teams and earned two medals in their 5K race. The top five runners for Grayson County were as follows:

Peyton Nash placed 6th out of 97 runners with a time of 17:56.56.

Lucas Gallagher placed 10th with a time of 18:14.91.

Tanner Cadena placed 15th with a time of 18:22.14.

Eli Helm placed 17th with a time of 18:35.97.

Isaac DePoyster placed 18th with a time of 18:36.97.

The high school girls did not compete as a team in their 5K, but earned one medal. Their individual results were as follows:

Chloee Darst placed 9th out of 69 with a time of 21:56.11.

Annie Kiper placed 49th with a time of 25:41.78.

The middle school girls team placed 2nd out of seven teams in their 2,800-meter race and earned two medals. The top five runners for Grayson County were as follows:

Sydney Perkins placed 3rd out of 98 runners with a time of 11:59.90.

Coray Milam placed 4th with a time of 12:05.46.

Alexis Henderson placed 15th with a time of 12:54.98.

Gracie Portman placed 22nd with a time of 13:15.22.

Sutten VanMeter placed 23rd with a time of 13:17.88.

The middle school boys team placed 3rd out of 14 teams in their 2,800-meter run and earned one medal. The top five runners for Grayson were as follows:

Houston Brooks placed 6th out of 146 runners with a time of 10:42.94.

Jaron Nugent placed 14th with a time of 11:22.24.

Zach Behlke placed 17th with a time of 11:26.66.

Paul Overton placed 29th with a time of 12:11.70.

Sawyer Guffey placed 38th with a time of 12:29.61.

The 3rd-5th boys team placed 4th out of 12 teams in their 1,750-meter race. The top five Grayson runners were as follows:

Garrett Bradley placed 17th out of 122 runners with a time of 7:59.89.

The 3rd-5th grade girls team placed 5th out of 12 teams in their 1,750-meter race. The top five Grayson runners were as follows:

Lexi Hill placed 24th with a time of 8:36.02.

The k-2nd grade girls team placed 3rd out of six teams and received two medals in their 1,750-meter race. The top five Grayson runners were as follows:

London Jones placed 7th with a time of 9:14.36.

Kinley Jones placed 18th with a time of 10:11.39.

Lucy Kemp placed 23rd with a time of 10:40.65.

Isabella Masden placed 31st with a time of 11:05.89.

Then on Tuesday, the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams traveled back to Hardin County to participate in the Bruin HOKA Race, scoring two more 3rd place finishes for the Cougars in the 3,200-meter race.

The JV boys team earned 3rd place out of four teams. The times of the top five Grayson runners were as follows:

Jacob Smith placed 1st out of 50 runners with a time of 11:46.65.

Joseph Beasley placed 4th with a time of 12:04.19.

Houston Brooks placed 14th with a time of 12:31.41.

Draven Stewart placed 26th with a time of 13:29.63.

Luke Milliner placed 31st with a time of 13:54.72.

The Varsity boys team also placed 3rd out of four teams. The times of the top five Grayson runners were as follows:

The next race, Gatorland, takes place today at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green at 9 a.m. starting with high school girls and ending with an awards ceremony just after noon when the elementary school boys race is finished.
