The Grayson County Cougars hosted the Butler County Bears last Friday night in a game where the Cougars saw a two-point victory in overtime.

Despite trailing by 14-points, the Cougars were able to make a series of runs that closed the gap.

Senior Nolan Shartzer tied at 38-38 to send the game into overtime where an offensive battle ensued.

Ultimately, it was the Cougars who prevailed. With junior Jaxon Higdon being sent to the free throw line, one successful free throw secured the Cougars’ win.

Shartzer led the night with 26 points, followed by Higdon’s nine points and freshman Brayden Childress adding five points.

Final score: 47-45.
