Tamera Newton (left) along with her children Branson and Brooklynn opened a scrub shop in Leitchfield Monday.

Mine and Mommy's Scrubs and Gift Shop opened in Leitchfield Monday.

According to owner Tamara Newton, they will be selling farmhouse decor, scrubs, medical accessories, socks and shoes.

They currently carry Heartsoul and Cherokee scrubs and can special order different sizes and colors that come in within a week.

Newton said that she wanted to open the shop because she used to work in a dental office and it was hard to get scrubs without taking the day off work. Now people will be able to find scrubs locally so they will not have to miss a day of work to travel outside of Grayson County, she said.

Newton, along with her children, will run the shop Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and, with the help of Haley Sanders, from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. However, these times may change in the fall.

The shop is located at the corner of West White Oak Street and South Main Street, near Fivestar and Shell in the X-Act Homes building. They can also be found on Facebook under Mine and Mommy's Scrubs and Gift Shop.
