Several Grayson County High School students were recognized at the School Board meeting Thursday night for setting great examples of what it takes to reach goals set forth by the Profile of a Graduate campaign. Several students and teachers were recognized for their improving Grayson County High School at the Grayson County School Board meeting Thursday night.

GCHS Principal Josh Baldwin recognized his department heads. He said that he puts a lot more work on them in addition to running their departments within the school and teaching. Baldwin recently asked them to lead data teams, assist in peer observations, mentor new teachers, analyze student data, lead their department on all curricular discussions and help with many other things.

Teachers recognized were Gretchen VanMeter, Kyle Powell, Stacey Powell, Beverly Dowell, Gail McCrady, Erina Duvall, Cody Mooneyhan and Cortney Sanders.

Students were also recognized for their outstanding achievements and showcasing what the school's Profile of a Graduate campaign is all about: being personally empowered, effective communicators, solution seekers, team players and enterprising innovators.

In other business the School Board:

*Approved the working budget for the 2019-2020 school year.

*Approved several roofing projects.

*Approved several requests to apply for grants.

*Approved several school fundraisers.

*Approved an addition to the 2019-2020 salary schedule for Educational Technicians.

*Approved creating several new elementary aid positions.

*Approved several trip requests.
