The city of Caneyville, last Friday, April 26, accepted a bid for an emergency water line repair on Highway 62.

The Caneyville City Commission, during a special called meeting on April 26, accepted a $44,500.40 bid from Horsley Construction, out of Hudson, Kentucky, to replace 1,075 linear feet of six-inch PVC water line and 60 linear feet of six-inch DI water line on Highway 62.

The project will also include a $3,000 engineering fee in addition to construction costs.

According to Caneyville Mayor James Embry, Horsley's was one of two bids for the project. The second, from Do-All Construction in Caneyville, was for $137,250.

Caneyville City Clerk Connie Gootee said that it would take at least 10 days from the time the bid was accepted for all necessary equipment to be delivered, after which work is expected to begin.
