A chili cook-off was held by VFW Post 12175 at the Redneck Ranch Restaurant on Sunday to help raise money for community service and post programs.

Nine pots of chili were made for the event, and it was judged by Clarkson Mayor Bonnie Henderson and Leitchfield Mayor Rick Embry. Anyone who wanted to have chili, desserts and hot dogs made a donation.

The VFW also held a 50-50 raffle. According to Post Commander Tim Hack, the event raised around $476.

Several members of the community came out to show their support and enjoy the food. Winners of the chili cook-off were: Betty Hammersley, first; Frances Allen, second; and Linda Kaelin, third.

Hack thanked all participants and those who donated money.
