Two Leitchfield residents were arrested Tuesday after fleeing from the Leitchfield Police.

According to Leitchfield Police Detective Kevin Smith, the LPD was dispatched to Cave Mill Road at 2:58 p.m. on Feb. 5 to a rolling domestic complaint.

Leitchfield Police Officer Chase Melton attempted to make contact with James S. Decker and Susan M. Saltsman, but they sped away, according to an LPD news release.

Smith said that officers again tried to stop the vehicle as it proceeded on Hendrick Street and then onto Sunbeam Road to Claggett Road.

Officers set up a roadblock at the intersection of Claggett Road and Owensboro Road on Highway 54

According to Smith, the vehicle bypassed the roadblock continuing west on Owensboro Road at a high rate of speed for four miles before they were apprehended.

Both suspects were arrested and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Decker was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol; fleeing or evading police, first degree, motor vehicle; four counts of wanton endangerment, first degree; reckless driving; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle; license to be in possession; driving on a DUI suspended license; and resisting arrest.

Saltsman was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The LPD was assisted by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office and Constable Mark Stanton.
