Iva Pauline Hume, age 88, of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 1, 1924 in Luther, Tennessee, the daughter of D.T. and Laura Mills Jones. She was a retired schoolteacher for the Owensboro City Schools and the Paducah/McCracken County Schools.

She is survived by two children, Dale Hume (Vanna), of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Laura Fleener, of Leitchfield; two brothers, Rev. Grant Jones, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Asa Jones, of Coral Springs, Florida; six grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Shane Hume, Jeremy Dale Hume, Jeff Hume, Jared Hume, Ann Fleener and Doug Fleener; one step-grandchild, Adam Fleener, and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Hume, Grayson James Hume and Ayden Hume.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Hume, and one son, Danny Hume.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel, in Leitchfield, with Rev. David Harting officiating. Burial will be in the Peters Cemetery in Mackville, Kentucky at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
