Mary Lou Beeler, 85, of Caneyville, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was born on May 24, 1927 in Yeaman, the daughter of the late Warren B. and Pinkie Smith. She was a Post Master in Spring Lick for over 20 years, a housewife, and also a beautician. Mary Lou was a member of Yeaman Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, whom she was united in marriage on November 20, 1954, Wendell Beeler, their six children. Warren (DeeDee) and Charlie (Becky), both of Caneyville, Cindy Cornell (Jim), of Hopkinsville, Jinger Key (David), of Alabama, Terri Fentress (Denny), of Paducah, and Chris (Rhonda) of Shephardsville; 21 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Smith, of Virginia, and two sisters, Elwanda Joiner, of Falls of Rough, and Marion Fentress, of Louisville.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emily Beeler, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Daryl Glenn will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Emily Beeler Scholarship Fund in c/o the Bank of Caneyville.
