Howard “Frost” Ray, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on June 18, 1940 in Shrewsbury, the son of the late Buel and Mae (Davis) Ray. He was a dozer operator. As a young boy he attended the Shrewsbury Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Porter (Perry), of Caneyville and her mother, Peanut Ray, of Leitchfield; one son, Brendan J. Bratcher, of Leitchfield; one brother, J.B. Ray, of Leitchfield; two sisters, Dorothy Harpe, of Louisville, and Ann VanMeter, of Leitchfield; two granddaughters, Jessica Rhae Porter, of Owensboro, and Sarah Hale, of Shrewsbury; two great-granddaughters, Addyson Lynn and Allyson Elizabeth.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Hobert and Tommy Ray.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday after 1 pm. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
