Wavie Mercer, age 68 of Clarkson, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Woodland Terrace Nursing Home, in Elizabethtown.

He was born June 2, 1944 in Grayson County. He was the son of the late Wallace Mercer.

He was an assembly worker for the Ford Motor Co., a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam, was a member of the National Guard and he attended Eveleigh Independent Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Jenny Borland and Leslie Mercer; his mother, Ima Mae Blair Mercer; two granddaughters, Ashley Borland and Bailey Mercer; a grandson, Colton Gray; two brothers, Ray and Russell Mercer; five sisters, Alvena Vincent, Lillian Spicer, Louise Belcher, Luvena McCombs and Linda Baxter; two special friends, Roger and Michael Vincent; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Watkins-Oller Funeral Home, with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating. Interment will follow in the Eveleigh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 06, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 9 a.m. until time of service.
