William “Dale” Knight, 83, of Brownsville, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on January 31, 1929 in Edmonson County, the son of William Andrew and Edith Knight. He was a farmer and a member of the Reedyville Masonic Lodge #438. He was also a member of Caney Creek United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn Embry Knight, of Brownsville,; one son, Thomas Knight, of Louisville; two daughters, Linda Martin (Ronnie), of Morgantown, and Teresa Cash, of Bowling Green; two step-sons, Steve Embry, of Brownsville, and Jeff Embry (Angel), of Dawson Springs; one sister, Lorene Shely (Bill), of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, six step-grandsons, two great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Webb, and his late wife, Betty Paine Knight.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home, in Caneyville. Bro. Junior Miller and Bro. Howard Decker will be officiating with burial and Masonic Rights at the Slatebank Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville after 3 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
