Galis Ruthford Skaggs, age 87, of Millwood, , passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the his home.

He was born on January 27, 1925, in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the son of the late Jesse and Lureiria Scott Skaggs. He was a retired welder from the James Cash Manufacturing and the City of Leitchfield.

He is survived by a daughter, Debra Roof (Stoney), of Millwood; four sons, Henry Eastridge (Georgia), Timmy (Sherry), Billy (Barbara) and Kent Rudnick, all of Leitchfield; one brother, Harvey Sandlin, of Smith Grove, KY; two sisters, Ethel Sandlin, of Indiana, and Naomi Jaggers, of Leitchfield; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, a daughter, Donna Jo and two sons, William and Robert.

Funeral services will be at 10a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Vol Layman cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until time of services.
