She was born on March 29, 1937, in Leitchfield, the daughter of the late Delmer and Sylvia Givens Mercer. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Robert, of Lexington, and Edward Kiper (Tina) of Leitchfield, three grandchildren, Stephanie Embry of Caneyville and Josh and Kevin Kiper, both of Lexington, two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Brodie Embry, both of Caneyville, two brothers, Charles and Herman Mercer, both of Leitchfield, one sister, Sharon Kay Alvey of Elizabethtown.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ova Kiper and two brothers, Bud and Sherman Mercer.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 17, 2010. at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, with Bro. Ricky Armstrong officiating. Burial was in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
