A Leitchfield man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault in the 4th degree (domestic violence with a minor injury), and terroristic threatening in the 3rd degree, according to a press release from the Leitchfield Police Department.

26-year-old Jeremy Trent Geary was charged and arrested as a result of a domestic violence incident that occurred at a residence on Elmwood Drive in Leitchfield on Sunday, March 3, according to Detective Kevin Smith.

Smith said Geary was arrested without incident by the Leitchfield Police Department for these charges on the same day that the incident occurred.

The victim of the incident told police Geary kidnapped her; struck her multiple times in the face, arms, and back; tied her hands together with rope; held a gun and knife to her head; and threatened to kill her and her family, the press release read.

Geary was transported to and is currently being held at the Grayson County Detention Center (GCDC), according to the press release.

Smith said the case is currently still under investigation and more information will be released as it is available.

In addition, at Geary’s arraignment on Thursday, March 7, Judge Harold Goff set Geary’s preliminary hearing for March 21, according to a representative from the GCDC.

Geary’s bond is currently set at $25,000, according to the GCDC representative.
