The commission continues to work on project that will promote tourism in the city of Leitchfield.

“We do have several projects in the works and ideas for several more that would provide activities and bring tourists to the city,” said Johnson. “A few of the projects we are looking at are a new baseball park and something with the arts council. “

The commission took on a project to build a pavilion, originally started by the city, at Firefighter’s Park on HWY 259, spending $13,613 in 2012. The project is scheduled to be complete before the spring season.

In addition to the pavilion, they are adding a splash pad and water features that will be available to the public at no charge this summer.

An outdoor pool is in the works to replace the aged pool on Wallace Avenue. The new pool is expected to be complete in summer of 2014.
