Hubert Ray Kiper Jr., age 73, of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, in Leitchfield.

He was born on December 1, 1939 in McDaniels, the son of the late Hubert Ray Sr. and Fannie Mae Darnell Kiper.

He was retired from Gates Rubber Company, in Elizabethtown, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was a Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Butler Kiper; one son, Mark Kiper and his wife, Tabatha, of Princeton, KY; four brothers, Bobby Kiper (Joyce) and Larry Kiper (Sylvia), both of Hardinsburg, Otis Kiper (Nancy) and Charles Kiper (Debbie), both of Leitchfield; one sister, Phyllis Willis (Vernie), of Leitchfield; five foster grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, George and Lena Butler, two brothers-in-law, Robert Stinnett and Stanley Dupin, two nephews, Barry Kiper and Jason Butler and a great nephew, Christopher Kiper.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2013, at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Leitchfield. Bro Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Holly Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
