The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that homeowners need to keep an eye on their satellite dishes.
A recent surge in dish thefts has been noted, with five reported in just two days. A total of at least 12 cases have been worked by the GCSO, and they suspect that Leitchfield Police Department and possibly Kentucky State Police are working other similar cases locally.
They also believe that there are some cases which are going unreported.
“Homeowners need to watch out,” Sheriff Rick Clemons said on Thursday, “We need people to pay attention and if they notice something suspicious, or things don’t look right, let us know.”
Some particular things to watch for if you see potentially suspicious activity are a description of the person or persons involved and a description of the vehicle involved. If it is possible to get the tag number of the vehicle, this is extremely helpful to officers as well, Clemons said.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GCSO at 270-259-3024 or their anonymous tip line at 270-200-2222.
