Leitchfield got an early Christmas present of sorts Friday, Dec. 21 —a clean financial bill of health.
During a special meeting, the city council heard the results of the city’s 2012 audit from Dan Drane of Drane & Co. CPAs of Hardinsburg.
According to the report, the city had total assets of $12.1 million in its governmental accounts and total liabilities of about $4 million, for total net assets of about $8 million.
The utilities system had total assets of $28.1 million and total liabilities of $9.9 million, and the Tourism Commission had total assets of $606,596 and total liabilities of $73,720.
