Fans of marching bands have the chance Saturday to see many area high schools — as well as a Kentucky university — perform locally.

Grayson County High School’s Marching Cougars are hosting the Twin Lakes Invitational show Saturday evening at the GCHS football field. Admission is $5, with children under 5 admitted free.

The show will start at 5:15 p.m. with a senior recognition ceremony, followed by the Grayson County Middle School band performing the “Star Spangled Banner” at 5:45 p.m.

The competition will start at 6 p.m., with bands performing roughly every 15 minutes. Caverna, Hart County, Christian Academy of Louisville, Hancock County and Butler County high schools’ bands will perform in the first sets. Following a break from about 7:15 to 7:30 p.m., the contest will continue with South Warren, Warren East, Breckinridge County and Franklin-Simpson high schools.

As the host school Grayson County can’t compete, but the Marching Cougars will take the field at 8:30 p.m.

Also scheduled to perform during the night is Campbellsville University’s Tiger Marching Band.
