Highway 259 North will be closed on Sunday, October 14 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for the Second Saturday event, a state-wide affair with the goal of getting people moving and encouraging physical activity. The event will be held at the fairgrounds and will include games and a grand prize giveaway of a new set of cornhole boards.

The event is free to the public.

Also at the fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon will be the Muscle Walk from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. This DECA Club-sponsored event hopes to bring awareness for Muscular Dystrophy.

Anyone looking for more information on the events is welcome to call 259-3492.

The road will be closed in front of the fairgrounds from the bypass (KY 3155) to Salt River Road (KY 920), with traffic control operations being conducted by the Leitchfield Police Department.

Other area roadwork:

Clifty Church Road is closed for a bridge placement over the Western Kentucky Parkway. Traffic is being detoured using KY 720.

Work on the roadway is scheduled to be completed by Saturday, November 3.

Traffic is also being funneled along KY 720 as a detour from Rock Creek Road in Hardin County, near the Grayson County line, for bridge replacement work.

The work on Rock Creek Road is scheduled for completion by Friday, October 19.

Those travelling along Western Kentucky Parkway should be alert for temporary lane closures in both east-bound and west-bound lanes at mile point 119 and 120 due to the bridgework above the parkway.
