Sister Robert Ann Wheatley, age 91, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph of Maple Mount, Ky., died Easter Sunday, April 8, at Mount Saint Joseph Motherhouse. She was in her 72nd year of religious life.
A native of Cloverport, Ky., Sister Robert Ann was an educator for more than 30 years. She ministered at St. Anthony Convent, Peonia, 1942-45, St. Benedict School, Wax, 1948-51, and St. Paul School, Leitchfield, 1951-54 and 1968-69. She taught in many other schools in the Diocese of Owensboro, the Archdiocese of Louisville, and Nebraska and New Mexico. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1993.
Survivors include a brother, Adrian Wheatley, Hawesville; nieces, nephews and cousins, and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 11, at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, with burial in the convent cemetery at Maple Mount. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
