Clarkson Elementary Academic Team placed first in the District Governor’s Cup Competition

Clarkson Elementary Academic Team placed first in the District Governor’s Cup Competition held Saturday, March 1 at Wilkey Elementary School. The District Competition included the elementary schools in Grayson County.

The following students placed in written assessment:

Mason Edlin- 1st place in Social Studies

Abigail Horsley- 5th place in Composition

Jordan Horsely- 2nd in Science

4th in Arts & Humanities

Jessica Huges- 3rd in Language Arts

4th in Social Studies

Bradley Stone- tied for 2nd in Math

5th in Science

Scott Tomes- tied for 2nd in Math

Courtney Vincent -1st in Math

The Future Problem Solving Team placed first in the district competition. Team members included Abbey Gibson, Abigail Horsley, Makayla Spalding, Courtney Vincent, and Shelby Watkins.

The Quick Recall Team placed first in district competition. Members included Mason Edlin, Jordan Horsley, JEssica Huges, Emily Logsdon, Cole Manion, Chance Perkins, BRadley Stone, and Scott TOmes.

The Clarkson Academic Team advanced to regional competition held at Breckinridge County High School on Saturday March 22. The regional competition included the elementary schools in Breckinridge County, Grayson County and Meade County.

The following students placed in written assessment:

Mason Edlin- 5th in Social Studies

Jessica Hughes- 1st in Language Arts

3rd in Social studies

Courtney Vincent- 4th in Math

The FPS Team placed third and the Quick Recall Team placed second in overall competition. The Clarkson Academic Team placed third in the final standings.

The team also picked up the Katherine Hume sportsmanship award for both the district and the regional competition.
