He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Spencer; and his parents, Lacey Howell and Ollie Floyd Spencer.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Guffey of Clarkson, Ky. and Louise Purcell of Big Clifty; one brother, Lacey Junior Spencer of Big Clifty; and one sister, Cova Gibson of Clarkson. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Arvona Taylor of Clarkson, Bani Purcell and Wes Guffey, both of Big Clifty, and Mysha Leigh Thompson of Bonnieville, Ky.; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Wes Guffey and Bro. Jerry Bird officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
