Mary Martha Collard, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born on September 21, 1930, in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Clarence Allen and Virginia Catherine Ballard Horn.
She along with her late husband, Carl, was a former owner and operator of the Horns Shoe and Western Store, who enjoyed gardening, reading, making and painting wood crafts and playing the organ; she was a past member of the Leitchfield Women’s Club, the Red Hat Ladies Club and a past member of the Leitchfield Chamber of Commerce and was a current member of the Clearview Baptist church.
She is survived by three daughters, Candy Swift (Ralph), of Leitchfield, Mary Carla Hornback (Steve) and Cheri Davidson (Dave), both of Coxs Creek, KY; her best friend and companion, Judy Douthitt, of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Stephen Samuel and Virginia Rachel Hornback and Gail Edwards (Mike); three great-grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Edwards and Bailey Swift.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Collard, and a grandson, William Scott Swift.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer officiated. Burial was in the Leitchfield Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
