Tennis gets split with Red Devils

Miles Hornbeck returned a forehand. Hornbeck lost a close match to Owneboro’s Jack Iracane, 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 9-11.


Bailey Decker smashed a forehand return. Decker beat Owensboro’s Delaney Hayden 8-2.


Grayson County’s number-one singles player, Grace Gorby, won her match 6-1, 6-1 over Owensboro’s A. C. Brake.


Spencer Cannon returned a volley during his 1-8 loss to Owensboro’s Paul Iracane.


Mackenzie Edwards sighted a backhand return during her 8-0 win over Madison Ellis, of Owensboro.


The Cougar tennis teams played host to the Owensboro Red Devils last Tuesday afternoon at the Cougar Courts and came away with a split of the two matches.

The Lady Cougars continued their winning ways by shutting out the Lady Devils 9-0 to move to 10-0 for the season.

The young Cougars lost their second straight match, 2-7 to the Red Devils, dropping them to 7-3 on the year.
