The two teams exchanged the lead four times in the first half. A 7-2 Jaguar run gave them their largest lead of the game, 13-9 at the 11:40 mark.

The Lady Cougars later had a 9-2 run to take a lead they would not give back. Trailing 15-11, Saltsman buried a three with 7:30 left in the first half to bring the Lady Cougars to within a point, 15-14.

Following a Mercy basket, White and Horton had back-to-back lay-ins to put Grayson County in front 18-17 at the 6:31 mark. Horton added another lay-in with 5:05 remaining to give Grayson County a 20-17 lead. They led by two points, 23-21 at the half.

Grayson County scored the first four points of the second half to take a six point lead, 27-21 at the 15:34 mark, but Mercy answered with four straight to cut it back to two points again, 27-25 with 11:24 left to play.

That would prove to be as close as the Jaguars would get, though, as Grayson County reeled off 11 unanswered points to take command of the game. White’s old-fashioned three-point play at the 9:19 mark put the Lady Cougars up by 13 points, 38-25.

The Jaguars were never closer than 10 points the rest of the way as the Lady Cougar defense held the Jaguars to just 10 second-half points.
