Potter’s Hope makes stars on prom night

Potter’s Hope Ministries gave several Grayson Countians with special needs the opportunity to attend prom and be “stars” this past weekend.The Potter’s Hope Evening of Stars was held Sunday, April 13 for 45 special needs participants, who may not have otherwise been given the prom experience, said Donna VanMeter, who organized the event alongside Penny McCrady, Brad Mudd, Youth Pastor Jake Clemons, and Clemons’ wife, Cristina.Attendees walked the red carpet, were given limousine rides around Leitchfield by an Elizabethtown limo service, and danced the night away with their dates.

 

Cougars take two in Graves wood-bat tourney

The Cougar baseball team got a taste of what it is like to play the game with wood bats this past weekend as they won a pair of games at the Graves County Dinger Bat Tournament, held in Mayfield.The Cougars were scheduled to play three games over the weekend, but Friday night’s game at Marshall County was cancelled after Mother Nature dropped an inch of rain in about an hour on the Marshall’s field. Clarkson to be named 5th class city
