One injured in Anneta Rd. wreck

One local woman was injured when her car crashed into a ditch on Wednesday, April 23.At around 9:03 a.m. on Wednesday, Grayson County Emergency Medical Services, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Leitchfield Fire Department responded to a report of an injury accident near 2895 Anneta Road in Leitchfield.Elizabeth Decker, 61, of Rabbit Flat Road, was driving her 2000 Buick LeSabre on Anneta Road when she crested a hill and noticed traffic had stopped, according to GCSO Chief Deputy Tony Willen, who investigated the accident.Rather than crashing into traffic, Decker then took to the ditch beside the road where the vehicle came to a rest, Willen said.

GC students named Governor’s Scholars

Several Grayson County High School students will get an early taste of college life this summer during the Governor’s Scholars Program, a five-week, summer residential program for outstanding Kentucky high school students between their junior and senior years.Candidates for the Class of 2014 are Abby Gibson, Bethany Harting, Cameron Hicks, Jessica Hughes, Jessica Johnson, Alexis Schmidt, and Courtney Vincent.
