She was born on July 6, 1921, in Butler County, the daughter of the late Amos and Birdie Hudson Swift. She was a retired aide at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and was a member of the New Harvest Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Hunt (Herbert), of Leitchfield; one sister, Madine Smith, of Caneyville; three grandchildren, Sherry Meredith, and Shelia and Tim Dotson; five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Allen.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Caneyville with Bro. Arland Benningfield officiating. Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
