One injured when car flips
by Brittany Wise

One Leitchfield man was injured in a Falls of Rough Road accident on Friday afternoon.

Kevin G. Jarboe, of Pearl Street in Leitchfield, was travelling south on Falls of Rough Road approximately six miles south of Falls of Rough, when the accident occurred, according to the report filed by Detective Jeff Kelsey, with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.

41-year-old Jarboe told the officer that he came around a curve and saw another vehicle completely in his lane, at which point he swerved into the north-bound lane to avoid a collision.

After travelling into the north-bound lane, the 1993 Ford Ranger, which Jarboe was driving, hit a mailbox and a culvert before beginning to flip.

Two witnesses to the accident were later interviewed, and both told Kelsey that they had looked and seen the car flipping after hearing the accident, though neither had seen another vehicle at the time.

Special Deputy Dave Colston was the first responder to the scene and found Jarboe in the bed of the pick-up at that time, though he was unsure at that point whether or not Jarboe had been ejected from the vehicle.

At the time the report was written, Jarboe was listed as having been properly belted when the accident occurred, and not ejected from the truck during the collision.

Jarboe suffered multiple incapacitating injuries and was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS before being transported by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room.

Kelsey noted that a prescription medication with Jarboe’s name on it was found in the floorboard of the truck. Blood tests were ordered to rule out any role the medication may have played in the accident.

The truck involved in the accident was licensed to William J. Taylor. It sustained very severe damage and was removed from the scene by King’s Towing Service.
