A Falls of Rough teenager was injured Tuesday evening in a Shrewsbury Road accident.
According to a report filed with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, a 17-year-old male was travelling on Shrewsbury Road approximately 10 miles south of the city of Leitchfield when the accident occurred at just before 7 p.m. on March 12.
The teen told officers that he had looked down to check his speed and subsequently ran off of the roadway.
Officers determined that the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS that he was driving crossed the north-bound lane of traffic before striking a tree. At that point, the report stated that the vehicle “began to flip.”
The Oldsmobile finally came to a rest on it’s tires.
The report states that the teenager was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and suffered head and/or face injuries, for which he was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS and transported by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
The vehicle, which was licensed to Meranda Mahurin, of Brownsville, was very severely damaged, and was removed from the scene by Terry’s Towing.
