Reta Moutardier, age 88, of Leitchfield died on Monday, October 20, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on July 31, 1915 in Grayson County as the daughter of James and Mary Scott VanMeter. She was a housewife and a member for 52 years of the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by four sons, Hubert Moutardier Jr. of Clarkson, James and Larry Moutardier, both of Leitchfield, and Robert Moutardier of Owensboro; three daughters, Rose Lucas and Mary Mercer, both of Leitchfield, and Ruth Young of Glendale; five brothers, Billy, Berthel, Carl and Joe VanMeter, all of Leitchfield and John VanMeter of Texas; one sister, Lorene Wooldridge of Leitchfield. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Edward Dermitt officiating.
Burial was in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.
