To the Editor:
As we the try to survive everyday life, we all realize many things. The government keeps saying the middle class people, and at one time we were middle class. Now it is poor and rich. I am not saying it is wrong to be rich, but if you are rich and you do not do anything to help the poor, then it is wrong — Mitch McConnell and the Romneys, to only name two.
We give money for tax donations. You are only helping yourself.
We watch gas, food, electric and insurance, to name a few, go up and up, while wages stay the same. People on Social Security don’t get a raise for 3 years, and then — oh wow, a 1.7 percent increase. Excuse me? Let the government people live on that.
It is sickening. The Bible says the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and it will be easier to thread a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man enter the kingdom of Heaven. Well, I probably will go to hell, but it won’t be on the backs of people.
People — stand up. The Republicans, like Boehner, want to go over the fiscal cliff so they can blame it on the Democrats. We need to clean house. Mitch McConnell, Boehner, only care about how much they have. Do the people not get tired of Mitch McConnell? All we hear is bull ____. The Republicans — and I will say some Democrats — do not care. Let’s not forget the government had plenty of time to work on a farm deal and didn’t, so let’s hurt the farmers and put it off another year. Let’s cut Medicare, food stamps, Social Security, teachers, programs for schools, but let’s not cut their salaries to help. Let’s cut the people’s throats who are struggling already.
I’ll be 60 soon. I’ve worked since I was 15 years old. If I retire at 62, I can draw $928 a month from Social Security. I can’t wait. I might have enough left to buy a Big Mac. So people who draw this, it’s not fair. They can keep their bank accounts. Truckers, farmers — stand up and say we are tired, and help make a stand. Come on, people. We all know that there are more people in this country going to bed hungry and homeless all the time.
We all have to try to pay it forward, and let’s start today.
