Frances (Brown) Corbett- a retired IRS auditor, passed away in New Albany, IN on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the age of 87.
Born October 2, 1925, Frances was one of five children raised in Morganfield, KY. At 18 she moved to Louisville, married Ernest Ambrose Corbett and had six children in six years. Shortly after, Ernest left and Frances made the hard decision to put her children in St. Thomas St. Vincent orphanage for 11 years while she pulled her life together and struggled with the loss of her daughter Carol to leukemia.
Upon retirement, Frances moved to Caneyville to be with the love of her life, Lonis Clark. Upon his death, she returned to Louisville where her daughter Faye lovingly cared for her till her death. Frances enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a regular crocheting machine.
Frances is survived by her children, Virginia Baublitz, of Maryland, Patricia Thurman, of California, Michael, of Kentucky, Charles, of Indiana, and Faye Rush on Indiana; her grandchildren, Amy, Melody, Brian, Matthew, Jessica, Jimmy, and Chase; her great-grandchildren, Alex, Victoria, Issabella, Mason and Logan.
The family chose to have a private graveside service in Caneyville.
