In response to the success of the Quick Care facility, Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center (TLRMC) looks to expand the facility’s hours to better attend to the needs of the community.
Director of Planning and Marketing Bill Oldham said Quick Care—located at 1895 Elizabethtown Rd in Leitchfield—was established to assist TLRMC in providing medical care to Grayson County’s ever-growing population.
However, the high demand for medical care has often led county physicians to max out their patient quota.
Oldham said Grayson County’s medical community has recognized the need for more medical care and stressed that TLRMC is always looking for new healthcare providers.
“Sometimes you have to wait,” Oldham said. “We have a number of people whom have already committed to coming here after they finish medical school.”
While providing medical care to the community is a top priority for TLRMC, Oldham said the hospital must also think about the success of its physicians.
“We need to find the balance between having the right number of providers [and the growing population],” Oldham said. “You don’t want too many doctors or their practices will suffer. Anytime [a doctor] comes to town, we want their practice to succeed.”
Oldham said he is optimistic about finding the aforementioned balance. “The process is ongoing, but I think it will get better,” he said.
