Performers needed for United Way’s Got Talent
United Way of Central Kentucky is rolling out the red carpet again seeking talented performing artists to compete in the third annual United Way’s Got Talent. Acts will be featured at the Heartland Festival on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
There is no cost to enter and is open to anyone age 14 or over. Any resident of Hardin, Breckinridge, Grayson, LaRue, or Meade County is welcome to submit an act for consideration. Acts should be family friendly and are subject to approval by UWCK.
Due to time limitations, a minimum of six, but no more than eight acts will be selected to participate. Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners, which will be decided by guest judges. The performance will be at Freeman Lake’s second stage from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (EST).
Visit the United Way of Central Kentucky website at www.unitedwayck.org to link directly to the online registration form. Entries should be received as early as possible to be considered for participation. The complete contest rules are included within the entry form.
“Engaging the community at a family fun event like The Heartland Festival helps our local United Way share how we mobilize our community’s time, talent, and resources to deliver meaningful results and improve lives,” said Christopher Wilborn, Executive Director of United Way of Central Kentucky. “While we look forward to enjoying the outstanding talents of performers at the event, we recognize that everyone has something valuable to offer to make our region an even better place. No matter your unique interests, skills, or availability, UWCK can connect you with opportunities to impact our community.”
