Leitchfield Tourism announced on Tuesday it has officially hired Sabrina Durbin, of Bowling Green, as Leitchfield Aquatic Center Director.
Durbin, who was previously Director of the Russell Sims Aquatic Center in Bowling Green, is certified in Red Cross and is currently completing the requirements to be able to certify lifeguards herself, said Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson during the regularly scheduled Tuesday, March 25 Leitchfield Tourism Commission meeting.
Durbin will be ready and able to certify Leitchfield Aquatic Center’s lifeguards, of which the City is currently looking to hire about 20, Johnson said.
A lifeguard informational meeting was held on Wednesday, March 19, and a second lifeguard informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at the Centre on Main, located at 425 South Main Street in Leitchfield.
Individuals interested in applying for a position as a Leitchfield Aquatic Center lifeguard are encouraged to attend the Wednesday informational meeting or contact Johnson at the Centre on Main by phone at 270-259-5587.
In addition, the City hired Terry Ashley, who also previously worked at the Russell Sims Aquatic Center, to perform maintenance on Leitchfield Aquatic Center, Johnson said.
Ashley will have his first day on Monday, March 31.
