For the first time, the Grayson County Extension Service will host a number of community classes in Caneyville.
Marilyn Templeman, of the Friends of Caneyville High School, said, during the regularly scheduled, Monday, Aug. 10 Caneyville City Commission meeting, that Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences Natalie Taul will host three classes at the old Caneyville Graded and High School in the coming months.
The first class, Green Cleaning 101, will be held this month, on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. During the class, participants will learn how to make their own green cleaning supplies and receive a sample and a recipe booklet.
The second class, Crockpot Cooking, will be held on Monday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. During this class, participants will learn new and different ways to use their crockpot.
And then, Healthy Holiday Side Dishes, during which participants will learn new side dish ideas for the holidays and receive a recipe booklet, will be held on Monday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Individuals wishing to take part in the classes should call the Extension office at 270-259-3492 to register. A minimum of five participants is required per class, or the class will be cancelled.
Templeman said Taul will discuss with participants in the upcoming classes about future classes they would like to see hosted in Caneyville, and Taul will continue to host classes in Caneyville as long as there is interest.
