Relay for Life Team Captain D’s of Leitchfield is going “Fishin’ for a Cure” this Saturday, Aug. 15.

The first annual Fishin’ for a Cure fundraiser for the Relay for Life of Grayson County will be held this Saturday at the Grayson County Fairgrounds, starting at 10 a.m., and will feature numerous craft, food, business, and sales vendors, as well as music and games.

Entry to the event is free to the public, but donations for the local Relay for Life will be accepted.

Additionally, a car/truck/motorcycle show will be held, starting at 12 p.m., and prizes will be awarded to car show participants and vendors.

Vendor prizes will be awarded based on most money collected for the local Relay for Life to the Best Craft Vendor, Best Sales Vendor, Best Business Vendor, Best Relay for Life Set-Up, and Best Food Vendor.

Free give-aways will be held throughout the day, as well.

Event Organizer Melissa Constant, who is also a member of Team Captain D’s of Leitchfield, coordinated the event as a way to boost community involvement with the Relay for Life, as well as introduce local vendors to community members.

“We’ve gotten a lot of community support,” said Constant, who wished to thank the Grayson County Fair Board for allowing her Relay team to use the Fairgrounds for this Saturday’s event.

A set shut-down time for Fishin’ for a Cure has not yet been determined.

“We’ll be there until everybody goes home,” Constant said.
