On June 28, several people representing the “Cowboys For Kids” and “Rider’s For Kids” groups traveled to Country Lake Christian Retreat Center in Underwood, IN to visit with their friends at “Camp Quality – Kentuckiana” and provided them with their evening meal.
They served approximately 225 Camp Quality staff, campers, companions and guests a meal consisting of BBQ chicken, potatoe salad, macaroni & cheese, baked beans, and potato wedges, along with tables piled full of home-made goodies, which is always a favorite for Camp Quality! Thanks to IGA/Mrs John Sosh for the potato wedges, Alicia Whitfill for preparing the mac & cheese and baked beans, and to all that helped provide and serve the delicious meal to these special children!
Making the trip to Indiana were: Pam Trost, Rhonda Adkisson, Theresa and Tony Magiera, Gena Blair, Michael, Rita, Sami Jo, and Donna Tate, Jerry and Laverne Robinson, Abbey McCellon, Ian Williamson, Mikayla Phillips, JR and Amber Horsley, John and Lindsey Whitfill, and Barbara Sosh.
The two groups hold benefits each year with all proceeds going to help fund Camp Quality – Kentuckiana, a camping and support program for children with cancer. The “Rider’s For Kids” benefit ride, meal, and auction will be held Aug. 15 at Hudson, and the “Cowboys For Kids” Benefit horse show and auction will be Sept. 26 at the Breckinridge County Fairgrounds. New this year! “Rider’s For Kids” will have a Benefit ATV/four-wheeler ride at Blue Holler Off Road Park in Mammoth Cave, KY (more information later) on Oct. 17!
85 “Campers” were able to attend Camp and participate in other activities throughout the year because of the generosity of so many wonderful people! For more information about Camp Quality, visit http://www.campqualityusa.org/ki/. You can also “like” Rider’s For Kids & Cowboys For Kids on Facebook!
