A Big Clifty woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Clarkson on Monday afternoon, July 27.

At around 3:34 p.m. on Monday, Douglas Burden, 56, of Leitchfield, was driving a 1995 GMC truck eastbound on West Main Street in Clarkson when he stopped to make a right turn, according to investigating Clarkson Chief of Police Buck Meredith.

While Burden was waiting to turn near the 500 block of West Main Street, 51-year-old Tami Lanigan, of Big Clifty, who was driving a 2000 Ford F-150, rear-ended the GMC, Meredith said.

Lanigan was transported from the scene of the crash by Grayson County Emergency Medical Services to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for non-life-threatening, accident-related injuries.

Burden was uninjured, and neither vehicle had passengers at the time of the collision.

The Ford was disabled as a result of the crash and was towed from the scene by Donnie King’s Auto Sales & Service. The GMC received minor damages in the wreck but was not disabled, Meredith said.
