Grand Jury indicts 21

The Grayson County Grand Jury handed down indictments to 21 individuals during its May meeting.

David Duke, 28, of Caneyville, was indicted for Sodomy in the Second Degree, for allegedly engaging in deviate sexual intercourse with a male less than 14 years old on or about April 3, 2017.

Ross A. Farrow, 33, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree – Methamphetamine, First Offense (Greater Than or Equal to Two Grams); Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Hydrocodone; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of Marijuana; and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. These charges stem from a March 19, 2017 incident.

Mercedes L. Goldsmith, 26, of Caneyville, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of Synthetic Drugs; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. These charges stem from a Feb. 9, 2017 incident.

Tommy G. Hayse, 65, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon; Assault in the First Degree – Domestic Violence (Two Counts); and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

On or about March 20, 2017, Hayse allegedly committed these offenses when he had brass knuckles on or about his person; intentionally caused serious physical injury to Tonya Johnson by shooting her with a gun, a deadly weapon; and possessed a firearm after having been previously convicted of a felony.

Charles J. Higdon, 22, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Methamphetamine, First Offense; Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08, First Offense; Careless Driving; Operating a Motor Vehicle on Suspended/Revoked License; and License to be in Possession. These charges stem from a March 3, 2017 incident.

Michael J. Howard, 36, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of Synthetic Drugs; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. These charges stem from a Feb. 9, 2017 incident.

Lance J. Lacefield, 21, of Caneyville, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition of Property – Auto $500 or More but Under $10,000; Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree; Fleeing or Evading Police in the First Degree (Motor Vehicle); Fleeing or Evading Police in the Second Degree (on Foot); Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree – Police Officer; Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree; Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Aggravated Circumstance), First Offense; Operating on Suspended/Revoked Operators License; Speeding 26 Miles Per Hour or More Over Speed Limit; Disregarding Stop Sign; Reckless Driving; Failure to or Improper Signal; Improper Lane Usage – Vehicles Keep to Right Except to Pass; Failure to Wear Seatbelts; and Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree. These charges stem from a Feb. 2, 2017 incident.

Jesse D. Maulden, 37, of Cub Run, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Opiates) Enhanced by Possession of a Firearm; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Enhanced by Possession of a Firearm; Illegal Possession of Legend Drug (Three Counts); Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon; Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol); No Registration Plates; and Improper Display of Registration Plate. These charges stem from a March 25, 2017 incident.

Billie J. McKinney, 32, of Clarkson, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); and Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol). These charges stem from a Feb. 21, 2017 incident.

Joshua T. Newsome, 25, of Clarkson, was indicted for Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree (Two Counts) for allegedly engaging in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serous physical injury to Bobby Hayes and one other individual on Jan. 21, 2017.

Leslie N. O’Dell, 41, of Louisville, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Methamphetamine, First Offense Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Xanax) Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of Marijuana Enhanced by a Firearm; and Promoting Contraband in the First Degree. These charges stem from an incident on Jan. 27, 2017 when she allegedly introduced marijuana and Xanax into the Grayson County Detention Center.

Jonathan W. Odom, 60, of Big Clifty, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); and Possession of Marijuana. These charges stem from a Nov. 4, 2016 incident.

Charles Ralph, 63, of Olaton, was indicted for two charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. These charges stem from a Jan. 20, 2017 incident when Ralph was allegedly in possession of numerous firearms and a handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony.

Joshua J. Sandlin, 31, of Clarkson, was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property Valued Under $10,000.00; two charges of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree; two charges of Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree; and Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition of Property – Auto $500 or More but Under $10,000. These charges stem from a March 17, 2017 incident.

Erica N. Speers, 31, of Clarkson, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Methamphetamine, First Offense; Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance, First Offense; No/Expired Kentucky Registration Receipt; and No Registration Plates. These charges stem from a March 3, 2017 incident.

Ricky T. Thompson, 58, of Louisville, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Methamphetamine, First Offense Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Hydrocodone Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Xanax) Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Enhanced by a Firearm; Possession of Marijuana Enhanced by a Firearm; Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol .08, Third Offense; Speeding 11 Miles Per Hour Over Speed Limit; Reckless Driving; Failure of Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance, First Offense; No/Expired Kentucky Registration Receipt; and No Registration Plates. These charges stem from a Jan. 27, 2017 incident.

Bethany L. Wilson, 36, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Promoting Contraband in the First Degree; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Methamphetamine, First Offense (Greater Than or Equal to Two Grams); Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Heroin, First Offense; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of Marijuana; and Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol). These charges stem from a March 27, 2017 incident when Wilson allegedly introduced heroin into the Grayson County Detention Center.

Crystal G. Wilson, 35, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Theft by Unlawful Taking – Shoplifting Under $500. These charges stem from a March 22, 2017 incident.

Bobby L. Zachery, 29, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Fleeing or Evading Police in the Second Degree (on Foot). These charges stem from a Dec. 2, 2016 incident.
