The local community will have another chance to see Zootopia for free in the coming weeks.
Due to inclement weather and subsequent technical issues, Zootopia was unable to be played at the opening night of the 2016 Leitchfield Fall Movie Series on Friday, Sept. 16.
But Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson confirmed at last week’s special called Leitchfield City Council meeting on Thursday, Sept. 29 that the Grayson County High School Football Boosters will host another showing of Zootopia on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Babe Ruth baseball field behind Grayson County Middle School.
Admission to the movie is free, and concession sales will be available. The movie is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Johnson said during the Tuesday, Sept. 27 Leitchfield Tourism Commission meeting that, because the movie had not been shown, the city could retain the rights to show Zootopia one time over the next year, and after a brief discussion, the Tourism Commission voted to approve the $500 cost for R & B Productions to play Zootopia for the GCHS Football Boosters’ event.
The next free scheduled film in the Fall Movie Series is Goosebumps, which will also be shown at the Babe Ruth baseball field on Friday, Oct. 28.
