Clarkson Drug Store was once again burglarized this past weekend.
According to Clarkson Police Officer Rick Clemons, Clarkson Drug Store, located at 201 Millerstown Rd. in Clarkson, was broken into at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Oct. 1.
Based on the Clarkson Police Department’s investigation, it was determined that the perpetrator(s) broke the front door out of the local pharmacy and entered through the front door, Clemons said.
The pharmacy’s alarm went off, and the perpetrator(s) of the burglary were in the store “a little less than two minutes,” according to Clemons.
The Clarkson Police Department responded quickly, but the subjects were gone when police arrived, Clemons said.
The burglary was still under investigation as of press time on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and security cameras are in place in Clarkson Drug Store, according to Clemons.
No other details regarding the break-in have been released, including what may have been stolen in the burglary, but the Grayson County News-Gazette will follow this story as it develops and provide updates as they become available.
Anyone with any information regarding the break-in at Clarkson Drug Store is encouraged to contact the Clarkson Police Department by calling Clarkson City Hall at 270-242-6997.
The break-in on Saturday marks at least the fourth time Clarkson Drug Store has been burglarized in the past two years.
The pharmacy was burglarized twice in the fall of 2014 on Oct. 6 and Nov. 17, and once in the spring of 2015 on April 17.
All of the previous burglaries resulted in the theft of numerous medications.
The burglaries in the fall of 2014 involved forced entry through Clarkson Drug Store’s front window (on Oct. 6) and front door (on Nov. 17).
The perpetrator(s) broke into the pharmacy through its roof in the April 17, 2015 burglary.
