The Grayson County Fiscal Court, on Monday morning, Sept. 26, accepted a more than $123,000 bid for the replacement of the bridge on Bloomington Road.
In a special called meeting on Monday, the Fiscal Court opened bids for the replacement of the 50-foot-long, 20-foot-wide, and 10-foot-to-water bridge with raised approaches on Bloomington Road.
Bids were received from DO All Construction, out of Caneyville, and Hornback Construction, out of Hodgenville, KY.
DO All Construction’s bid for the project was $123,050, and Hornback Construction’s bid for the project was $173,610.
After discussion, the Fiscal Court voted to accept the bid from DO All Construction, provided the company can complete the project within 60 calendar days, per the bid specifications.
According to the bid requirements, the road will be closed during construction of the bridge.
During the regular Fiscal Court meeting on Friday, Sept. 16, Grayson County Judge Executive Gary Logsdon said the condition of the current Bloomington Road bridge had become dangerous and an “accident waiting to happen,” if it had not been shut down to be replaced.
