Grayson County Alliance is accepting applications for their eleventh annual Repair Affair event.
The yearly event is fueled by local volunteers, and aims at making needed repairs to homes owned by low-income residents who are elderly or disabled.
During the one-day event, teams will go out to different sites to make the repairs, and aim to create a safer, more secure home for those who live there.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, and organizers are currently accepting applications from individuals who fit the criteria and need home repairs.
If you or someone you know is in need of repairs, applications are available at the Food Pantry located at 125 East Market St. Leitchfield. For more information regarding the application process you can call Donna at 270-259-4000.
The application deadline is August 31.
Without the help of plenty of volunteers, the event could not go on, and local residents would continue to go without necessary repairs.
Volunteer teams can be put together by area churches, businesses, organizations, or simply groups of friends or family.
Teams are asked to remember that a team captain with experience in some construction is helpful.
