Volunteers are needed to run the Leitchfield/Grayson County booth at the Kentucky State Fair next month.
The Kentucky State Fair will be held from Aug. 18 through Aug. 28 in Louisville at the Kentucky Exposition Center, and the Leitchfield/Grayson County booth will be located within the Pride of the Counties section of the south wing of the center.
Work shifts at the Leitchfield/Grayson County booth are divided into three four-hour shifts per day, and currently there are more than 10 shifts available to volunteers, according to Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson.
“It’s basically just to promote the area,” said Johnson of the purpose of the booth.
Individuals who volunteer will receive entry passes into the state fair from Leitchfield and Grayson County Tourism, Johnson said.
Volunteers may request what shift they prefer to work, but shifts will be designated on a first come, first served basis, according to Johnson.
Individuals who wish to volunteer are asked to contact Tourism by the close of the week before the state fair.
