The City of Clarkson on Monday, June 27 approved its operating budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
The Clarkson City Commission held a special called meeting on Monday to hear and approve the second and final reading of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-2017 budget ordinance.
Per the ordinance, the City of Clarkson is projected to have the following in the coming fiscal year:
Total Resources Available: $677,550.00
Total Appropriations: $561,750.44
The General Fund is projected to have an end-of-year balance of $115,799.56 on June 30, 2017 (the final day of the coming fiscal year).
Total Resources Available: $208,000.00
Total Appropriations: $180,166.00
The Sewer Fund is projected to have an end-of-year balance of $27,834 on June 30, 2017.
Parks and Recreation
Total Resources Available: $70,000.00
Total Appropriations: $63,000.00
Parks and Recreation is projected to have an end-of-year balance of $7,000 on June 30, 2017.
Following the second and final reading of the FY 2016-2017 budget ordinance, the City Commission voted to approve and adopt it.
In other business:
*The City Commission approved the second and final reading of the amended FY 2015-2016 budget ordinance.
*The City Commission entered into executive session to discuss possible property acquisition; however, upon returning from executive session, Clarkson Mayor Bonnie Henderson reported that the City Commission took no action and is still negotiating the possible acquisition.
